My favorite animal

My favorite animal is the sheep.  The sheep is a domestic animal, ruminant mammals. In the groups, there are different breeds and ages. They are not very large and there are different colors, as white, black, brown or mixture of those colors. Often, it has black legs or black neck. Each breed is for different purpose.

The sheep is in the farm or grazing extensive systems. But it is very afraid because they are easy prey of other animals. Sheep are exclusively herbivorous, that it prefer to graze on grass and plants of short roughage. The sheep always walks in groups with the livestock, for take care of all animals. It likes to explore places, in search of food.

I like the sheep because is very tender, calm and friendly, and in proximity with humans are very loving. Besides, the breeding and use of these animals by humans is to obtain the wool, meat and milk. 

Why do you want to be a vet?

My dream when child, is was to be veterinarians, I wanted to help every animals because I love it, I wanted save it and treat it. 

My other option was occupational therapy, but my first option was veterinary medicine in Universidad de Chile, was my dream from very little girl.

I decide to study veterinary medicine because is a career with many jobs options, in large animals, small animal, in public health, in production, etc. besides, I love animals and I found my current pet (my dog), than it saved of the death, for this, I decide study veterinary medicine and I want to know of animals, thus I could to treat them.

My experience at university has been wonderful, I learn very much and day I love this career, more every day. I have had contact with animals, us horses, cows, dogs and cats and also sheep and goats. I have to read large books and difficult tests.

I want to work in municipalities, in department of zoonosis or in talks of responsible pet ownership.

1. What's been the role of climate change in the development of humans?
The climate change shows a increase in the variability around 6 million years ago. Besides, the vegetation changed a lot and a increase of the draught. 

2. In your opinion, what is the most significant milestone for the human evolution? Why?
For me, the most significant milestone is Dawn of technology, because early humans used stone and cores to cut, pound, crush and access new food (including meat of large animals).

3. Which early human species was thought to be the first to use tools made from stone?
The human species that firts to use tools made from stone, was Homo habilis. He represent the first stone toolmaker.

4. Who were the first human species to travel to and live in Europe? When?
The first human species to live europe was Homo Heidelbergensis about 700.000 to 200.000 years ago. The first in venture into cold latitudes of europe 

5. Which species survived for the longest time? For how long?
The homo erectus, they are surviving nine times as long as our own species, between about 1.89 million and 143,000 years ago. 

My favorite gadget

My favorite gadget is the cell phone because is the gadget more complete, is small and I can carry it everywhere. 

I like the cell phone because it can connect to wi-fi of the university, of my house, metro station or of the park. With internet I can see videos, play candy crash, look for information, have apps of dictionary or U-cursos and check mails. Besides, I can see the time, calendar, conversations with my friends and maintain me connected.

I use the cell all day except in class or when I speak with a persons, I have cell phone because I need to call my mother, as she lives in San Felipe and I study here. Besides, I can organize works with my classmate that lives far away. In the earthquakes, only operates the chat as whatsapp or facebook for emergency.

If I didn’t have cell, I would have more time to read or study but didn't can speak with my family. But the battery gets empty fast, so remain me the rest of the day for do homework. 

Post 2 - My opinions

- What is your opinion about violence on television? 
For me, the violence on television is a bad example for children. The television influence the actions of the childrens, due to that  they imitate it. Besides, they have video game, with various negative stimulus that will influence the child act. 

- What is your opinion about  climate change?

The climate change it goes on progression. The air pollution have increased the damage of the ozone layer that it contribute to the greenhouse effect and climate change. the climate change is almost entirely made by the man, for example by toxic emissions from factories and cars.

-What is your opinion about cloning?

I think that the cloning is very good, because it can improve production of animal milk, regenerating tissues and recover severe diseases. But human action can be used with others purposes. 

 

-What is your opinion about recycling?

My opinion about recycling consist in that is a way of resources control, transforms the waste into reusable products and prevent this loss. However, not all the people recycle and there is not a lot recycling center.

-What is your opinion about legalizing marijuana?

I think that the marijuana is a big therapeutic method and it permits relaxation. There is articles that says that it can regenerate neurons instead kill them. Moreover, it need further investigation to know if this plant is usefull as medicine. 

My Opinions

Coca cola is the best drink in the world 
I disagree. I don't like flavor, I prefer orange because is more sweet.  Besides, the Coca Cola damage the teeth.

I really like  faste food
I completely agree. I love fast food, my favourite food is the hamburger "rodeo king" of burger king. I like very much the cheese of that  hamburger.

Woman drivers are very dangerous.

I disagree because they are prudent and drive slowly, therefore, they prevent accidents. Although, we are more nervous than the men.

English is an easy language to learn.

I disagree. The English for me is very difficult but is funny and I want to learn very well. Besides, there are languages more easy like Spanish or Italian. 

Education in Chile should be free.

I agree. All persons should be able to study and finance the degree. However, there are people that can pay because they have money.  

I hate people who have pets but do not take good care of them.

I completely agree. The pets should going for a walk, feed them, give them affections and time for take to veterinary.

The best type of transport is the bike.

I completely agree. Because the bike don’t contaminate, we do physical activity, it’s easy to use for all persons and it not requires costs or payments.

My autobiography

My name is Gloria Corvera, I was born in San Felipe, Chile on December 1993.

The elementary school and high school, I was studying in Liceo Corina Urbina, located in San Felipe where I learned to play volleyball. My volleyball team trained everyday and I was going to compete on the weekends around to Chile.

I study veterinary medicine in Universidad de Chile since 2012. Currently, I'm in fourth year of the degree. It has been very difficult being away from home and family.

My family consists of my grandmother, mother and three dogs. I love and miss them everyday.

In my free time, I play volleyball in the faculty  with my team of Campus Sur, Universidad de Chile. Besides, I love the music and read long books. I don't like studying boring subjects but I love learning, too the animals and I'm very happy for choosing this career.
